• If this is for language teachers, there are more effective strategies for teaching language. Students would not get as much time speaking and listening if they are doing Rosetta Stone instead. • Teachers cannot correlate content with Rosetta Stone. • If this is for ML students, Rosetta Stone would not give them the ability to learn content and language at the same time. If a teacher has an ML student work on Rosetta Stone, they will most likely miss content instruction. They may be learning some social language but not necessarily academic language. • Research indicates that the best strategies for learning language and content at the same time would include the SIOP and Core Instructional Strategies for language acquisition. • Question of cost vs benefit. • There is no substitute for teacher-facilitated language instruction.

As mentioned this needs to be used as a supplemental resource to the teacher being the instructor of content. This may help students start to use a language in a non threatening way but then would need to be followed with direct instruction from staff within a school.
