Comments: "Formative" was reviewed by Noelle Converse, Dawn Houser, and Joan Bramble. We were able to have a teacher and principal demonstrate the utility of this tool for their school. We all agreed that this tool will be very useful for a school provided they are aware of its limited scope as a formative tool to assist teachers in quickly assessing students' understanding and providing a way to manage the use of small groups based on data. Teachers would need to be aware that they should continue to use their professional judgement and other lines of evidence to inform summative proficiency based grades.
