Made by the creators of Imagine Learning, Joy School focuses on teaching English language development with oppotunities to speak, listen, and read. Because of our high ML population, having the ability to practice spoken language is something that isn't widely seen in most of our programs for reading. Because Imagine Learning is our only approved program that features speaking opportunities, it makes it difficult for pricing because there is not a lot of competition. By adding another program to the market, we can make sure we are getting the best "bang for our buck" with programs while focusing on student learning. From testing the software, it was a lot more whole language focused than Imagine Learning. It features more conversations and actually interpreting the langauge inputs from the student rather than just sound or word repetition.

This tool focuses on helping students with oral language by using speech recognition and AI technology to both engage students and help them get talking. While this tool focuses on vocabulary, it is mostly tier 1 words. I would highly suggest that this tool be used only with newcomers as once students have gained a good understanding of social English they will quickly progress beyond the scope of this program. This program should not be used as a replacement for Tier 1 instruction on grade level content.
