Purpose / Use / Notes*: We need this software to fulfill a state mandate on our dispatch system. The system will consist of a pair of HA servers. We want to separate them geographically. But they do need to keep a unicast heartbeat between the two. It will also be a radio controller that the servers will need to be able to talk to. Servers will also need to be able to reach out to the sip lines or PBX for the phones. The server's point is to serve the dispatch stations. A mix of unicast and multicast is used to do this. The vendor recommends putting the consoles(dispatch stations) on a VLAN and enforcing QoS. We would also like the ability to put stations at a backup location in case the police station needs to be evacuated.

Notes: The vendor has two methods for setup: one that uses multicast (routed) and, with an additional hardware appliance, (Frontier) a method that uses unicast. If Frontier is not used, the network specialists would need to look into routing multicast between maintenance and the data center. Either way, the specialists said that we should be able to support it. Was unable to test any software that needs to be deployed at the time of approval as they only provide any software after the product is purchased. From what I can gather, there doesn't seem to be any issues with us supporting this software.
