Quill
From the website: "Quill provides free writing and grammar activities for elementary, middle, and high school students Quill Connect Help your students advance from fragmented and run-on sentences to complex and well structured ones. Using the evidence-based strategy of sentence combining, students combine multiple ideas into a single sentence. They then receive instant feedback designed to help them improve their clarity and precision. Quill Lessons Quill Lessons enables teachers to lead whole-class and small group writing instruction. Teachers control interactive slides that contain writing prompts, and the entire class responds to each prompt. Each Quill Lessons activity provides a lesson plan, writing prompts, discussion topics, and a follow up independent practice activity. Quill Diagnostic Quickly determine which skills your students need to work on with our diagnostics. The diagnostics cover vital sentence construction skills and generate personalized learning plans based on the student’s performance."

Quill.org can be used with all students including Multi-Language Learners to improve grammar and writing skills. This website offers diagnostic tests for English speakers and Multi-Language Learners and provides lessons that can be assigned to students individually or as group. Individually, students can work through the lessons and are provided with hints and prompts to help them succeed and improve their writing. Teacher lessons are also provided based on the highest needs within each class and can be taught whole class or in small groups. Finally, the website offers several reports for monitoring student growth including an activity summary, activity analysis, and diagnostics for free. A premium membership, by teacher and by school, is offered and includes these additional reports - activity scores, concepts, and standards. The concept report provides a summary of each individuals perform on all writing and grammar concepts. The standards report provides information on how individuals are performing on specific common core standards. Data export is also offered. Quill abides by FERPA.
