1 - Needs Improvement
After reviewing Reading Plus from a curriculum standpoint, we have found it lacks the curriculum connections posited in the request.
The program itself does not have links to or supports for, our FN standards which are essential in a Tier II Reading Intervention course. Its lack of decoding and phonics support is a serious issue.
While the program supports silent reading fluency, it does not support oral reading fluency, nor does it provide expert models for fluency development and support.
Vocabulary support is minimal where students are asked definitions of vocabulary words out of context of a text.
No
Was not approved during Educational Software Specialist review. Vendor has agreed to DPA on the USBE site but we did not sign to join because this was not approved by curriculum.
